# Installation We recommend using the **Qt-based interface** to have access to our graphical user interface. Without Qt, pynaviz can still be used, but in a programmatic way (via scripting). ```bash pip install pynaviz[qt] ``` To check if the installation was successful with qt, try running: ```bash pynaviz ```` To install from source, clone the repository and install with the `[qt]` extra: ```bash git clone https://github.com/pynapple-org/pynaviz.git cd pynaviz pip install -e '.[qt]' ``` If Qt is not available on your system, you can still use the fallback rendering engine (via PyGFX): ```bash git clone https://github.com/pynapple-org/pynaviz.git cd pynaviz pip install -e . ```
